A regular "laboratory" created crown can require the removal of healthy tooth structure to create a solid base for the crown. Tooth preparation for a CEREC-created crown is very different. The 3D and computer-aided technology allows our dentist, Dr. Yu, to remove only what is absolutely necessary of your tooth structure... leaving behind thicker enamel walls for healthy strength.

Leaving with your tooth prepared and with the permanent restoration can mean you will not need to spend weeks wearing temporaries. CEREC also allows our experienced dentist to produce a variety of custom-made crowns with great versatility. The opacity, translucency, strength and colors can all be carefully chosen by Dr. Yu for the best result.

Even when there is minimal tooth structure remaining, Dr. Yu can create a perfect restoration to fit exactly in the "space" that's been created. This small piece of porcelain or partial crown is then chemically bonded into place, blending with the rest of the natural tooth structure. Traditional crowns are also an option and can be fabricated by qualified laboratory technicians.
